Mehdi Hasan is the award-winning presenter of 'UpFront' and 'Head to Head' on Al Jazeera English. He is the author of two books, the former political director of The Huffington Post UK and a regular contributor to the New York Times and the Guardian. Mehdi has been included in the annual list of the 500 'most influential' Muslims in the world and his Oxford Union speech on Islam and peace went viral in 2013, amassing more than two million views online. Born and raised in the UK, and educated at Oxford, he is now based in Washington D.C

Friday, July 22, 2016 | Visit the stunning new Masjid al Hayy
Conference side events will include a tour of the new Masjid al Hayy, a new mosque that will be the largest in North America. The architecture and interior elements (inluding marble inlay, lattice work and carvings) have been inspired by the Al Hambra in Granada, Spain, the Hagia Sophia in Turkey and other notable mosques within the Islamic architectural realm. While the site is complete and the tour of this stunning new Masjid is confirmed, the Jaffer Reach Out Foundation is moving paperwork forward to allow occupancy by July so that IMI's delegation can be the first international group to host Friday prayers there as well.
