Muscat, the capital of Oman, is well-connected to international destinations via Muscat International Airport (MCT). The airport serves numerous direct flights from major global hubs, making travel convenient for conference attendees.
Visitors traveling to IMI's 12th International Conference are encouraged to book their tickets to arrive into Muscat on 24 December 2025 morning (or the evening before), as our pre-conference workshops will be scheduled for December 24th and departures from Muscat on 31 December 2025 as the optional sightseeing segment would take place 28-30 December 2025 (extra costs apply).
For those unable to join us for sightseeing, you can book your departures for 28 December 2025 (or late night December 27) to ensure you can participate in the full conference.
IMI is working with two travel agencies for our conference travel arrangements. Information on conference dates, sightseeing programs and hotel bookings have been shared with each as well to help your planning process.

Most international attendees will need to apply for an Oman eVisa in advance of travel. Applications are quick and online via the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal. Below are the key visa categories:
Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE) do not require a visa to enter Oman.
E-Visa: Many nationalities, including those from the USA, UK, Canada, EU countries, India, and others, can apply for an e-visa through Oman's official online visa portal. The process is straightforward, and visas are usually issued within a few days.
Visa on Arrival: Oman allows visa-on-arrival for certain nationalities, but it is recommended to check in advance as policies may change.
Business/Conference Visa: Attendees requiring a business or conference visa should apply in advance and may need a formal invitation letter from the conference organizers.
