Dates

Visitors traveling to IMI's 12th International Conference are encouraged to book their tickets to arrive into Muscat on 24 December 2025 morning (or the evening before), as our pre-conference workshops will be scheduled for December 24th and departures from Muscat on 31 December 2025 as the optional sightseeing segment would take place 28-30 December 2025 (extra costs apply).

For those unable to join us for sightseeing, you can book your departures for 28 December 2025 (or late night December 27) to ensure you can participate in the full conference.

IMI's 12th International Conference will be held at the Sheraton OMAN Hotel in Muscat, Oman. Special rates for conference attendees' hotel stay have also been neogtiated.

Visa Requirements

Visitors traveling to Oman for the IMI 12th International Conference in December 2025 may require a visa depending on their nationality. Below are the key visa categories:

  • Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE) do not require a visa to enter Oman.

  • E-Visa: Many nationalities, including those from the USA, UK, Canada, EU countries, India, and others, can apply for an e-visa through Oman's official online visa portal. The process is straightforward, and visas are usually issued within a few days.

  • Visa on Arrival: Oman allows visa-on-arrival for certain nationalities, but it is recommended to check in advance as policies may change.

  • Business/Conference Visa: Attendees requiring a business or conference visa should apply in advance and may need a formal invitation letter from the conference organizers.

How to Apply for an Oman Visa

  1. Visit the Royal Oman Police (ROP) e-Visa website: https://evisa.rop.gov.om
  2. Choose the appropriate visa type (Tourist, Business, or Conference Visa).
  3. Upload the required documents (passport copy, passport-sized photo, invitation letter, and proof of accommodation).
  4. Pay the visa fee (varies based on visa type and duration).
  5. Receive the e-Visa via email (typically processed within 3–5 business days).

Passport Validity and Entry Requirements

  • Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended date of departure from Oman.
  • Some travelers may be required to show proof of return tickets and hotel reservations upon arrival.

Currency and Payment Options

  • The local currency is the Omani Rial (OMR). 
  • Major credit cards are widely accepted, but carrying some cash for smaller transactions is advisable.
  • ATMs are available at the airport, hotels, and key locations in Muscat.

Weather and Packing Tips for December

  • December is pleasant and mild, with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C (64°F to 79°F).
  • Attendees should pack lightweight clothing for daytime and a light jacket for cooler evenings.
